A time for quiet celebrating

Dear Logie,

It is almost your first birthday, and I am feeling a bit guilty for not throwing you a huge party. I just don’t feel safe having you around tons of people right now. I’m not sure what I would do if you got sick and ended up in the hospital right now. I promise you that I will make it up to you in the spring or summer, and throw you a huge party when we can all be outside.  I want you to know that just because we aren’t having a party it doesn’t mean that we are not celebrating.  We will be having a cake for you and giving you gifts at home, and daddy even has the day off!!! I cannot believe what you have gone through and what you have become in such a short period of time. You have gone through more in your short 12 months that most people go through in a lifetime. Perhaps the most amazing part of it is that you did it all with a smile on your face.

I want you to know how proud of you I am. Over the last 2 weeks you have learned to sit up all by your self, you are bearing weight on your legs, and you are eating like a pig. I just know that you will hit that 18lb mark at your 1 year check up. You also said “up” this morning when you were done eating breakfast and wanted to get out of your high chair. It was clear as day.You are obsessed with the letter “A” and can pick it out anywhere and you are happy to show anyone who will listen to you that you know that letter. Right now, your favorite song is Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and its a toss-up between Cody, Panama, and Connor as far as which one is your favorite =)

You are really making amazing progress with your swimming pool therapy, and you are finally starting to like it thank goodness! I can’t wait for you to start using your walker so you can chase Connor and Panama around the house.

More to come
